Test Method of Ball Valve
Ball Valve is defined as the ball is driven by the stem and rotated around the axis of the ball valve in GB/T21465-2008 Terminology for Valves. It could control and adjust the flow. And the multiple way ball valve not only can flexibly control the confluence and shunt of the medium and the change of flow direction, but also can close any channel and make the two other channels connected.
Test method of ball valve:
1.The sealing test of floating ball valves: When the valve is under half-opening, the test medium is imported from one end, the other end is closed. Then turn the ball several times, open and check the closed end when the valve is closed. And check the sealing performance of packing and gasket, there shouldn’t exist the leakage. Then the test medium should be imported from the other end. And repeat the test above.
2.The sealing test of trunnion ball valves:The ball should be rotated several times before the test. When the trunnion ball valve is under the closed statement, the test medium should be imported from one end to the specified value, then check the sealing performance of import end through pressure gauge. Using pressure gauge is with accuracy of 0.5 ~ 1, and the range is 1.5 times the test pressure. In the specified time, it is qualified that there’s no decompression phenomenon. Then the test medium should be imported from the other end. And repeat the test above. Then, the valve is half-opening, and both ends should be closed, and the cavity filled with medium. Check the packing and gasket under test pressure, and there should be no leakage
3.The three-way ball valve should be tested in various positions.
